The Owl & Turtle Bookstore on Facebook
The Owl & Turtle Bookshop
A Mid-Coast Tradition Since 1970
A block up from the in the historic Knox Mill, you'll find Camden's oldest year-round full
service-bookstore.  Our shelves are lined with more than ten thousand hand-selected titles in
sections that include Maine, history, fiction and cooking.  We have an entire room dedicated to
children's titles and our marine room is considered the best in New England.

We host or sponsor more than 50 events a year.  Authors from across the nation have visited our
store including Jane Smiley, Nathaniel Philbrick, Ron Chernow, Scott Turow, Elizabeth Strout,
Martin Cruz Smith, Malcolm Gladwell, Frank Deford, Lisa See, Elizabeth Gilbert, Thomas
Friedman and many more.

This fall we will launch titles for two of our favorite Maine authors.  On Tuesday, September
27th, award-winning journalist Colin Woodard will celebrate the release of his fourth book,
"American Nations:  A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America."

On October 1st, Dorie McCullough Lawson will launch her children's title, "Tex:  A Book for
Little Dreamers."  This is Dorie's first children's title and follows the dreams of a young coastal
boy who yearns to be a rugged cowboy.

Later this fall, we offer books in support of the PopTech 2011 conference.  This year's theme,
The World Rebalancing, will bring several best-selling authors to Camden.  For a complete
overview, please visit
PopTech.

Please join us this summer for any of these events or simply stop by to browse our shelves.  Like
many mid-coast residents and visitors, we hope you too will call the O&T your favorite bookstore.
